    Roger Machado se beneficia del Parole humanitario y llega a Estados Unidos

    El otrora manager y jugador avileño Roger Machado llegó recientemente a Estados Unidos, según le informan varias fuentes a Pelota Cubana, beneficiado por el programa de parole humanitario del cual se han estado favoreciendo varios cubanos hace algunos meses.

    Entre el amplio resumen de Machado como ditector está el triunfo logrado en el Torneo Interpuertos de Rotterdam en 2009, evento que es muy recordado por el abandono de Aroldis Chapman.

    Además, dirigió a Cuba en los Juegos Panamericanos de 2015 y en la incursión por la Liga Can-Am entre 2016 y 2017. Machado se convirtió en el tercer manager cubano en ver acción en la Liga Norte de México cuando dirigió a Freseros de San Quintín, uniéndose a Benito Camacho y Michel Enríquez, está fue una de sus últimas experiencias al frente de un equipo.

    Vale recordar que Machado al mando de los “Tigres” fue el mentor con mejores resultados en las Series Nacionales en la pasada década con presencia en cinco finales por el título, logrando coronarse en tres oportunidades (2012, 2015 y 2016).

    Como pelotero debutó en la XXXII Serie Nacional de Béisbol con la novena de Ciego de Ávila, en la cual se mantuvo durante toda su carrera deportiva hasta su retiro en 2007 tras una lesión. Receptor de amplias cualidades defensivas que integró la selección nacional de Cuba recurrentemente – incluida la que quedó segunda en el I Clásico Mundial de Béisbol.

    Participó en 17 Series Nacionales, dos Ligas de Desarrollo, cuatro Super Ligas, una Copa Revolución, cinco Juegos de las Estrellas y dos Olimpiadas del Deporte Cubano.

    Internacionalmente destacó su presencia como receptor en los equipos cubanos que intervinieron en la Copa Intercontinental de Sydney en 1999; la Copa LG en Venezuela, en 2001; la Copa Challenger en Canadá, la Serie de las Américas en México y la Copa Intercontinental de La Habana (todas en 2002); los Juegos Panamericanos de Santo Domingo, el Preolímpico de las Américas en Panamá y la Copa del Mundo de La Habana (competencias desarrolladas en 2003); la Copa Mundial de Holanda y el mencionado I Clásico Mundial de Béisbol en Puerto Rico 2006.
